Breaking Gender Stereotypes: Encouraging participation in non-traditional roles
Today I have reached a stage where I am building my ambitions and achieving them at the same time.” Fidaa Khedish is a Palestinian Electrical Engineer who currently holds the position of ‘Head of the Technical Internal Audit Department’ at the Northern Electricity Distribution Company in Palestine. This achievement is a true representation of breaking through gender stereotypes and encouraging women’s participation in non-traditional roles.
This is within the framework of the JP #Work4Women programme, implemented in partnership with the ILO and funded by the Government of Sweden.
“وصلت اليوم لمكانة أبني طموحاتي وأحققها في آنِ واحد" فداء خديش، حصلت على بكالوريوس هندسة كهربائية من جامعة النجاح الوطنية وبدأت العمل في شركة توزيع كهرباء الشمال في 2014 وأصبحت حالياً رئيسة قسم التدقيق الداخلي الفني في الشركة. هذا الإنجاز يأتي كصورة من صور التحدي وكسر الصور النمطية في المجتمع لعمل النساء في بعض المجالات.
ويأتي ذلك في إطار برنامج العمل المشترك #Work4Women #عمل_للمرأة، الذي يتم تنفيذه بالشراكة مع منظمة العمل الدولية وبتمويل من حكومة السويد.
